When purchasing a property it is the duty of care of your
solicitor/conveyancer to advise you to have a pre-purchase
timber pest inspection undertaken by a professional pest
inspector.
We undertake pre-purchase timber pest inspections according
to the requirements of the Australian Standard 4349.3. We
report on the presence or otherwise of the infestation and/or
damage caused by subterranean and dampwood termites, timber
borers and wood decay and the presence of conditions that
are conducive to attack by these pests, such as water leaks,
high moisture, poor drainage, inadequate ventilation, inadequate
slab edge exposure, non-durable timber in direct ground
contact, termite shields and any other situations considered
a pest risk to your property. The degree of risk of timber
pest attack to your property is determined and recommendations
are made to help you reduce this risk.
Pre-purchase inspections are undertaken as soon as we
can obtain access to the property (usually the same or next
day) and the report is emailed to your solicitor, with a
hard copy, bound and including photos, posted immediately.

We
offer a Timber Pest Inspection report according to the requirements
of Australian Standard 4349.3 which also includes
thermal imagery.
Thermal imaging is the latest technological
innovation in termite detection. The thermal imaging camera
detects thermal anomalies such as hot and cold spots caused
by termites, water leaks, poor insulation, electrical faults,
rodents and snakes, in surfaces that are scanned. Understandably
it is an invaluable termite detection tool.
Thermal imaging
inspections are undertaken for routine termite inspections
as well as pre-purchase inspections.

The following conditions can attract termites:
• Any untreated timber in direct contact with
the soil, e.g. fences, sleepers, scrap timber or formwork
timber in subfloor.
• Poor ventilation.
• Poor drainage
• Water leaks
• High moisture
• Damp areas
• Inadequate termite shields/barriers.
• Garden beds or paths that have been built up over
slab edge.
The Australian Standard recommends no less than annual
termite inspections to your property.

We undertake invasive inspections where required, via
cutting access panels/traps, removing bricks or drilling
a small hole to inspect wall cavities with a borescope.

We undertake all termite treatments according to the Australian
Standard 3660. Treatments vary with construction type and
always need to be quoted. We provide free quotations for
termite treatments such as termite barrier installation,
termite baiting programs and direct destruction of colonies
with a registered termite dust/ termiticide.
We use various control agents (chemicals) and methods, depending
upon the type of termite and the extent and location of
the infestation.
